4-H Youth

Welcome to 4-H in Niagara County! 

All youth activities offered by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Niagara County fall under the 4-H umbrella, whether they happen after school, in the summer, or as a workshop, club, camp or special event. 4-H programs are offered in a wide variety of formats and places because they're designed to fit the interests and needs of the diverse young people who live in our rural and urban communities. Over 1,000 young people aged 5 to 19 participate in 4-H activities in Niagara County each year. The Niagara County 4-H Program includes 4-H Clubs, the 4-H Day Camp, the Independent Living Skills Program and the Legislative Intern Program.

4-H Youth

What We Do

Young people need knowledge, skills, and support to reach their potential as capable, competent, and caring young citizens. Cornell Cooperative Extension’s youth programs connect youth to the resources of Cornell University and the land-grant system, strengthening the next generation of inventors, entrepreneurs and problem-solvers. Activities and events inspire and shape youth, give them opportunities to master skills, enrich their knowledge, and work with others who provide a positive influence.

The Niagara County 4-H Youth Development Program provides young people ages 5-19 with 4-H opportunities in the areas of Animal Science, Arts, Science & Technology, Consumer and Family Science, and the Natural Environment. 4-H’ers “Learn By Doing” to “Make the Best Better
