Happy 10th Anniversary to the Veggie Van Program at CCE-Niagara!

Since 2016, the Veggie Van program mission has been:

  • to increase food security
  • to promote equitable food access
  • to work towards a sustainable and diverse local food system

The Veggie Van connects Niagara County residents with access to locally grown and produced fruits, veggies, proteins, dairy and more.

All of the food distributed is purchased from local small farms in Western New York, allowing the Veggie Van program to directly support our farmers and producers.  We then bring the produce to 20+ sites throughout the county, where we give the produce away at no cost!

The Veggie Van Farm Truck was funded by the Highmark BlueFund Western New York grant in 2021. We are also the recipients of several New York State grants which have enabled us to provide over 180,000 lbs of produce/ year to Niagara County residents!

The Veggie Van program currently serves about 3000 individuals a month at locations throughout Niagara County, all year long.  Participants receive food bags containing seasonal produce, dairy, proteins and more.

For 2026, the Veggie Van program has received extra funding from NYS to double our reach in Niagara County. We have added 20+ distribution sites. Please reach out if you would like to learn more about the program.
