Veggie Van Mobile Farmers Market
Since 2016, the Veggie Van Mobile Market program mission has been:
- to increase food security
- to promote equitable food access
- to work towards a sustainable and diverse local food system
The Veggie Van connects Niagara County residents with access to locally grown and produced fruits, veggies, proteins, dairy and more.
All of the food distributed is purchased from local small farms in Western New York , allowing the Veggie Van program to directly support our farmers and producers.
The new Veggie Van Farm Truck was funded by the Highmark BlueFund Western New York grant in 2021. We are also the recipients of several New York State grants which enable us provide over 150,000 lbs of produce to Niagara County residents at no cost.
The Veggie Van program serves about 1000 individuals a month at locations throughout Niagara County, all year long. Participants receive food bags containing seasonal produce, dairy, proteins and more, all year long.
