2025 Pie Competition - Rules & entry form

Entering pies at the county fair is a time-honored tradition. Whether you enter a pie using your great-grandma’s recipe or create a delicious masterpiece of your own, submit your best pie for a chance to win a rib-bon, bragging rights, and prizes! Pies will be accepted for the following categories:

Apple, Peach, Cherry, Cream, Berry, Specialty/Other (includes hand pies!), Savory and Grown in NY.

Get ready to fire up your ovens and show off your baking skills at this year’s Niagara County Fair Brownie Competition—held in honor of the Erie Canal Bicentennial! This special celebration pays tribute not only to 200 years of canal history but also to a delicious legend: the famous barge cook, Oliver Wendell Petrie. who is said to have served brownies for the crew of the Empire State oil tanker in the late 1930s. Now it’s your turn to channel that sweet legacy! Enter your best batch of brownies and compete for ribbons, bragging rights, and a chance to be part of Erie Canal culinary history. Let’s bake up a storm and celebrate two centuries of innovation, tradition, and irresistible chocolate!
