Equity & Justice Statement

Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County is committed to equity and justice in all aspects of our work. We recognize that our affiliation to Cornell University provides us with privilege and access to resources, and that historical and systemic disparities have limited that same access to various individuals and communities.

We work to provide support, resources, and opportunities to those who have been historically underserved or marginalized by bringing our education and outreach programs directly to the individuals and communities we serve.

We aim to create a more just and inclusive society by fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment for all, while working to eliminate discrimination in our practice based on federal, state, and local protected statuses.

We will continue to actively engage with our community while considering the input of those who have been marginalized, and working collaboratively to build a more equitable and just future for Sullivan County. We are committed to prompt and appropriate responses to actions that run contrary to CCE’s commitment to furthering diversity, equity and inclusion.
