4-H YOUTH ENROLLMENT & RE-ENROLLMENT

New 4-H Year starts October 1, 2024

(The 4-H year runs from October 1-September 30 each year)

New & Returning 4-H youth members—ENROLLMENT IS NOW CLOSED FOR THE 2023-2024 4H YEAR. The time to enroll & sign up for 4-H is in the fall time every year. 

NEW THIS YEAR! For Returning Animal Program Members: Returning members must have re-enrolled by Jan. 5, 2024 in order to be eligible to show/exhibit any animal at the 2024 Niagara County Fair***No exceptions will be made. New members, first time enrolling in 4-H, have until March 1, 2024 to enroll. After March 1, 2024, we encourage new members to sign up fresh in the fall of 2024! But please come visit us at the Niagara County Fair July 31-August 4.

HOW TO ENROLL: Only paper forms accepted (NO online option this year)

• Option 1: Stop by CCE Niagara and fill out paperwork in person (copies available at front desk)
• Option 2: Fill out paperwork at your October/November club or animal species meetings; forms available in the training center; seal enrollment form in envelope with your cash or check payment; drop into the NEW locked drop box in training center after meeting (black box mounted to wall in hallway by the shop doors)
• Option 3: Print a paper copy out online at home, fill out, mail in with check or drop off to office. If you come after hours, you can leave it in the front foyer locked drop box.

• 4-H Enrollment Fees:(Not accepting any 4-H Enrollments or Re-Enrollments after March 1)
  
  • First time enrolling/New Members between Oct.1-March 1 = $25 per child
  • Returning members, re-enrolling between Oct.1-Nov. 30 = $25 per child
  • Returning members, re-enrolling between Dec.1-March 1 = $35 per child
  • Maximum of $65 per family for 3 or more children living in same household (between Oct. 1-March 1)

• WHO CAN ENROLL? Youth ages 5-18. “4-H Age” goes by whatever your age is as of January 1. Must be at least 5 years old by January 1, 2024. Must be 18 or under by January 1, 2024. (But may turn 19 after January 1, 2024)

• ENROLLMENT PAYMENT: Please pay with cash or check made out to "CCE NIAGARA." Want to pay with credit card? There is not online credit card link on our webpage currently. Please either call the office to pay with credit card over the phone or stop by the office to pay with credit card in person. 

NEW ANIMAL PROGRAM RULES & REQUIREMENTS FOR 2023-2024 4H YEAR:

• Returning/Re-enrolling members must re-enroll by January 5, 2024, to be eligible to show/exhibit animals at the 2024 Niagara County Fair. Re-enrollments received January 6, 2024 or beyond, can still participate in 4-H and attend all animal meetings & 4-H programs, but are not permitted to show animals at fair in 2024. This is a hard deadline and exceptions will not be made.
• First time enrolling/new members - must enroll by March 1, 2024, and meet the minimum meeting requirements (explained below) to be eligible to show any animal species at 2024 fair.
• Each Clover Bud & 4-H Member must attend at least 5 species meetings per year (between September 2023-July 2024) to meet minimum meeting requirements, in order to be eligible to show/exhibit animals of any species, at the 2024 Niagara County Fair.
• County level 4-H public presentations = can count towards ONE of those 5 meetings, for those showing multiple species, counts for only 1 animal species of 4-H’er’s choice
• Farm Safety Course (newly offered in 2024)=can count towards ONE of those 5 meetings, for only 1 animal species of 4-H’er’s choice (if showing multiple species).
• College students living on campus/out of town – See your animal science leader
• Each animal species program/leader has the right to require additional requirements in order to be eligible to show that species within their program, at leader’s discretion.
