Since 2016, the Veggie Van program mission has been:
The Veggie Van connects Niagara County residents with access to locally grown and produced fruits, veggies, proteins, dairy and more.
All of the food distributed is purchased from local small farms in Western New York, allowing the Veggie Van program to directly support our farmers and producers. We then bring the produce to 30+ sites throughout the county, where we give the produce away at no cost!
The Veggie Van Truck was funded by the Highmark BlueFund Western New York grant in 2021. We are also the recipients of several New York State grants which have enabled us to provide over 180,000 lbs of produce/ year to Niagara County residents!
The Veggie Van program currently serves about 3000 individuals a month at private locations throughout Niagara County, all year long. Participants receive food bags containing seasonal produce, dairy, proteins and more. The private sites are closed to the public, but we are able add some stops at community sites throughout the year. Check out our Facebook for any future events.
