Pie Baking Competition

Join us for the 2018 Niagara County Fair Amateur Pie Baking Competition!

This competition is open to any amateur pie baker, any age, who is a resident of New York State. No professional chefs or bakers or any other person who regularly makes pies for pay.

Judging will be based on the following evaluation categories:

  • pre-slice/first impression
  • after slice impression,
  • first taste
  • flavor/closer look
  • mouthfeel,
  • crust
  • overall impression
  • creativity

Entries must be dropped off at CCE Administration Building on Monday, July 23rd, 8am-4:30pm OR Tuesday, July 24, 8am-12pm. No late entries will be accepted.

Drop off location: 4487 Lake Avenue, Lockport—CCE Administration building.

The competition consists of 5 categories:

  1. Cherry
  2. Berry
  3. Cream
  4. Apple
  5. Savory
  6. Grown in NY
  7. Peach
  8. Specialty/Other

Closed judging will take place Tuesday, July 24th. The awards ceremony is open to the public and will be held Saturday August 4th at 11:00am at the fair.
