Designed for farmers looking to diversify their operations, as well as anyone interested in fungi, foraging, and forest-based growing systems, participants will explore practical cultivation methods, edible plant identification, and sustainable agroforestry concepts through a combination of presentations and hands-on workshops. Most sessions will take place at the Niagara County Fairgrounds at Cornell Cooperative Extension Niagara County, with the Shiitake Inoculation workshop held on-site at Heartland Organics. Limited capacity — early registration is encouraged.

  Learn about edible plants and responsible foraging practices focused on plants only (no wild mushroom foraging).
• 12:00 PM — Agroforestry Talk
  Discover how agroforestry systems can support farm diversification and sustainable land management.

Saturday, June 13 — Heartland Organics

• 1:30 PM — Shiitake Inoculation
  Participate in a hands-on shiitake inoculation workshop and learn the basics of log-grown mushroom production.
