Press Release: Niagara County Fair Logo Contest: Deadline extended to March 7th
After receiving feedback from the community, CCE-Niagara County has decided to extend the due date for the fair logo contest to March 7, 2014. We were told that due to the many snow days experienced by county students this winter, teachers have had to make changes to their lesson plans. We are extending the deadline to insure that all Niagara County youth (ages 5-19 years) have sufficient time to complete their submissions. The community will be able to vote for their favorite logo March 10 to 17, 2014.
“A Good Thing Growing – Celebrating Niagara County Agriculture” is the theme of this year’s contest. We are looking to recognize, promote and celebrate:
- farmers and their families
- the produce they grow
- the animals they raise
- the beauty of their land and
- their contribution to our community
The winners will receive First Place: a $100 cash prize, two tickets to the Farm-City Breakfast (the Fair’s opening event), and 2 weekly Fair passes; Second Place: a $50 cash prize, 2 tickets to the Farm-City Breakfast, and 2 weekly fair passes; and Third Place: $25 cash prize, 2 tickets to the Farm-City Breakfast and 2 daily fair passes.
Visit www.CCENiagaraCounty.org for complete details. Entries may be submitted in person at Cornell Cooperative Extension Administration Building, 4487 Lake Ave., Lockport, NY 14094, or mailed to that address “Attention of Cathy Maloney, Fair Director”. If an entry is mailed, it must be postmarked on or before March 7, 2014. If submitted in person, CCE will validate the date and time of entry.
