The commerical agricultural enrollment with Cornell Cooperative Extension, Niagara County is not required to obtain assistance from Extension staff. We are not a membership organization. However, Cooperative Extension uses both public and private dollars to provide a package of services and educational information. Enrollment sometimes gives discounts on classes or meetings and free pH tests on farm soils (complete test at Cornell has a fee). Enrollment provides direct mail and monthly newsletters from area agricultural Extension teams as part of the enrollment which gives one direct notice of programs, dates and time. Free enrollment give one voting privileges for lay leadership guiding the organization. It shows the Niagara County Legislature that one values the organization by giving financial support to it.
There is no beginner/small farm enrollment as a one-size-fits-all local enrollment is not particularly useful. Local and regional programs and on-line small farms resources are readily available with one or two class series for this audience taught each year.
