Ag Programs in Development

Farm to School: This program is in development and will include garden-based learning initiatives that cross all aspects of K-12 curriculum and a procurement program to encourage healthier options in the lunchroom. CCE has received funding for this project through NYS Agriculture and Markets and is currently in the planning phases.

New/Beginner Farmer Program: This regional initiative focuses on the marketing/recruitment of new/beginner farmers, provides technical assistance, business planning, land access, and long-term planning workshops needed to enter into farming and grow the enterprise. The program has an emphasis on target populations: veterans, displaced individuals (refugees) and socially disadvantaged individuals. This program is currently in the planning phase.

CCE Incubator Farm: This farm will be designed to include a mentorship program, access to shared resources, technical assistance and skill building resources for new/beginner farmers to prepare them for their own farm businesses. This program is in the planning phase and CCE is looking for land, preferably adjacent to the fairgrounds to implement this farm.
